Prayer Of Faith Temple- Zion City

3100 Hill Street, Lynchburg VA

Today, dear readers, I have the privilege of sharing with you a chapter from my ongoing journey, one that has touched the deepest recesses of my heart and soul.

My 18th stop in this journey to explore every Christian church in our beloved city was at Prayer Of Faith Temple-Zion City.

Little did I know that this visit would become a profound milestone, a turning point in my spiritual odyssey, and a testament to the transformative power of faith.

Church, to me, has always been more than a place of worship; it’s a sanctuary where the Holy Spirit works within us, stirring our hearts and profoundly impacting our lives.

I’ve always believed that attending church should be a transformative experience, one where the Holy Ghost changes us from the inside out. My visit to Prayer of Faith Temple proved that this belief holds true in every sense.

This Church Is On A Mission of Light and Transformation!

The church’s mission, as I discovered, is beautifully encapsulated in their motto: “A City of Builders, Pursuing God, & Changing Lives.”

This was not merely a statement; it was a living reality within the walls of this sanctuary. From the moment I stepped through the doors of the beautiful Sanctuary, I was met with a chorus of warm greetings, friendly smiles, heartfelt hugs, and kind words.

I felt like I had walked into a place that had been waiting for me, a spiritual homecoming.

Timothy Davis, the minister of music, extended a warm and personal welcome. His genuine joy and sincere words set the tone for what would be a remarkable morning of worship.

This Is A Sanctuary of Holiness!

As I took in the surroundings, my eyes were drawn to the beautiful banners adorning the Sanctuary. Inscribed with verses from Ephesians 4:24 and 1 Peter 1:16, they served as constant reminders of the call to “Holiness, Righteousness, and Truth.” But it was the massive “Welcome” sign that spoke to my heart the loudest. Amidst all the warm greetings and embraces, that single word summed up the prevailing sentiment: I was welcome here.

You Can Expect An Uplifting Worship Experience!

The worship service began with the powerful voices of the choir filling the sanctuary, singing “I Will Bless the Lord, Oh My Soul.” The music ministry was not just about singing songs; it was a conduit for the Holy Spirit’s presence to permeate every heart in the room.

A young lady took the stage for a solo, belting out the lyrics, “King of Glory, fill this place.” The atmosphere was electric with the presence of the Divine.

Executive Pastor, Dr. Sterling Wilder, welcomed the congregation and shared announcements, including the celebration of First Lady Felicia Willis’s birthday. First Lady Felicia Willis, a paragon of grace, took the time to speak with me personally, offering words of love, encouragement, and even posing for photos.

Talk About A Shift in the Atmosphere…

But the most remarkable moment of the morning was yet to come. While Pastor Jonathan Willis was not in attendance, Prophet Frank Delaney took the pulpit and… what happened next was nothing short of awe-inspiring.

The atmosphere shifted as the congregation rose to their feet, hands joined, voices raised in unison to praise the Lord. It was a moment I pray everyone gets to experience in their lifetime—a moment so profound that words struggle to capture its essence.

Prophet Delaney’s sermon centered on the act of tithing, drawing wisdom from the pages of Malachi 3:10 and Leviticus 27:30. As he spoke, my perspective on tithing underwent a transformation. He emphasized the act of sowing seeds, recognizing that God is the ultimate owner of all things and that blessings overflow when we make room for them.

Following the sermon, Prophet Delaney devoted time to prophesy and pray over the congregants. To my astonishment, I was called to the front. In that sacred moment, the Holy Spirit spoke to me in a way I had never experienced before. Tears of joy flowed, and my spirit was forever changed.

I want to convey my deepest gratitude to the entire congregation of Prayer Of Faith Temple.

They did not merely welcome me; they enveloped me in a cocoon of love.

In their midst, I found a safe space to worship our Savior with unparalleled depth and sincerity. These beautiful souls prayed over me and offered unwavering encouragement on my spiritual journey.

Their love and warmth will forever hold a special place in my heart.

While I was not able to stay for the meal offered after service, I can’t wait to go back and join them again to worship our Lord, and Savior and share a meal together. I am not able to mention everyone by name, but thank you to everyone for your love and kindness.
