Today marked a particularly joyful and blessed day in my ongoing journey to follow the Holy Spirit’s calling to visit every church in my city.
As I reached the doors of Mosaic Church, the 30th church in this divinely inspired quest, I felt an overwhelming sense of anticipation and gratitude.
The experience of worshipping at Mosaic Church this morning was a profound affirmation of their mission: Living By Faith, Known By Love, A Voice Of Hope.
From the moment my daughter and I arrived, the warmth of the church community enveloped us. We were greeted by Steve, whose welcoming hug and bright smile immediately made us feel at home.
This sense of belonging was further deepened by Sara, a beautiful young lady whose kindness and welcoming spirit were a true reflection of the church’s mission.
The church’s sanctuary was unlike any I have ever encountered. WOW!
It was a stunningly beautiful and thoughtfully arranged space, providing a variety of seating options from traditional pews to comfortable chairs and tables and even inviting leather sofas.
The attention to detail in the decor and overall arrangement created an environment that was not just aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly inviting, making it a perfect place for reflection and worship.
As newcomers, we were delighted to receive complimentary beverages from the coffee bar, including hot chocolate and iced coffee.
This kind gesture was more than just hospitality; it was a symbol of the church’s heart for serving and welcoming everyone who walks through its doors.
Arriving early to take photos, we spent some time in the cafe area, where we were greeted warmly by each person entering. The community’s open-heartedness was evident, as many approached us with genuine smiles and big hugs, making us feel truly welcomed.
In my conversations with several members of the church, I asked what made Mosaic Church special to them.
The unanimous response was the authenticity of the people.
This non-denominational church has created a space where individuals can worship God in a manner that feels natural and personal to them.
Kris, one of the members, shared his journey of searching for a church home. He spoke of visiting churches for three years without finding acceptance for his unique way of worshipping. At Mosaic, however, he found a community where he felt loved, accepted, and free to express his devotion in his own way.
Another amazing story was shared by a young lady who went through a significant hardship with housing. She recounted how the church community had rallied around her, offering anonymous support and embodying the love of Jesus in a life-changing way. She said this church saved her life!
These stories were not just testimonies; they were powerful examples of the church living out a mission of love and hope.
The worship experience in the sanctuary was a soul-stirring journey. Led by a passionate worship team on fire for Jesus, we were immersed in songs like “Jesus We Love You,” “It Is Well With My Soul,” and a moving rendition of “O Holy Night” that left many, including myself, in tears.
The team’s devotion and energy was electric…and we were all in an atmosphere where the presence of the Lord was unmistakably felt.
A unique aspect of the service was the 10-minute fellowship break, which I found incredibly thoughtful.
It was a time to connect, take more photos, and capture the essence of the church community in videos.
After the break, Elder Ron introduced the guest speaker, Jamie Overholser from Standing Stone Ministry, an organization dedicated to shepherding shepherds.
The sermon, focused on the theme of peace, was both enlightening and engaging. We studied the meaning of Hebrew word “Shalom” through an interactive fill-in-the-blank game, exploring the depth of what peace truly means.
Jamie’s humorous yet insightful commentary on Isaiah 9, which mentions government and peace in the same sentence, was particularly memorable and the congregation definitely giggled.
One of the most impactful moments of the sermon to me was Jamie’s exploration of the theological concept of “justification.” He brought this sometimes abstract term to life, making it relevant and deeply personal to our everyday lives.
The biblical foundations of the sermon were solid, drawing on verses from Romans 1:5, Revelations 11:15, and Ephesians 2:14. Each scripture contributed to a message that magnified Jesus, allowing us to feel His presence powerfully in the room.
The experience at Mosaic Church was not just a visit; it was a spiritual journey that touched our hearts deeply.
The church’s commitment to being a place of faith, love, and hope was evident in every aspect of the service and the interactions with its members.
My daughter and I were moved by the thought-provoking message and the authentic warmth of the congregation.
I wholeheartedly recommend Mosaic Church to anyone seeking a Spirit-filled community. You can find out more about Mosaic church by visiting their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/mosaicva or their website at www.mosaicva.com
