409 Bay Street, Lynchburg VA
Today marked a significant milestone in my ongoing mission to explore the spiritual landscape of Lynchburg by visiting every Christian church in our city.
Stepping through the welcoming doors of New Praise Temple of Deliverance, I felt a profound sense of anticipation, knowing that this visit would be special, as several of my friends have invited me to attend over the past year.
New Praise Temple of Deliverance, the 54th stop on my quest, unfolded before me like a sanctuary of warmth and spiritual depth, offering a new layer of understanding and connection to my journey.
Upon arrival, I walked into a beautifully decorated sanctuary where I was greeted by a powerful woman of God, Evangelist Moss.
She took the time to have a real conversation with me, offering words of encouragement that touched my heart deeply.
I would later come to find that she is absolutely AMAZING and preached a powerful word that brought tears to my eyes.
I’m learning that when I have tears, it means God is working on my heart.
Evangelist Moss’ message was profound, urging us to let our gifts speak and to trust in God’s timing.
The love I felt in this church today was overwhelming; every single person in the congregation made sure to give me a huge hug and speak words of encouragement. I felt incredibly loved in such a wonderful way.
As I waited for the service to begin, a young girl coming out of Sunday school class ran over to me, gave me a giant hug, and told me how pretty I looked.
She totally melted my heart and proceeded to tell me that this was the best church ever and that what she loves most is praising God and dancing.
Yalhani is now my new best friend, with such a sweet personality.
It was so beautiful to be in the atmosphere of God today, and I was truly blessed.
Sister Stacy did a wonderful job with the scripture reading from the book of Isaiah, setting the tone for a spiritually enriching service.
My friend Taneesha shared that she loves this church—the people, the presence of the Holy Spirit, EVERYTHING.
As my friend Jessica, her nephew, and Pastor Bryan Moss led us in worship, it was incredible to sing songs on this Pentecost Sunday, such as “Let Freedom Fill The Room,” “Greater Than Anything,” and “Lord, I Love You.”
The worship was so powerful that it felt like the building was vibrating with praise and adoration.
The music was a profound experience for me.
Each song seemed to lift my spirit higher and closer to God.
“Let Freedom Fill The Room” was particularly moving, as the lyrics spoke of breaking free from all chains and embracing the freedom that comes with faith.
The congregation’s enthusiastic participation made the atmosphere electric.
When we sang “Greater Than Anything,” I could feel a collective sense of awe and reverence fill the room, reminding me of God’s limitless power and love.
“Lord, I Love You” brought an overwhelming sense of peace and devotion, and I found myself lost in worship, truly feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Bryan Moss delivered an incredibly powerful Pentecost sermon, guided by Acts Chapter 2 and the book of Ruth.
He eloquently blended real-life experiences with relatable stories from the Bible, using pots as a representation of what we are filled with. The theme of his sermon was, “What is the posture or position of our hearts?”
He emphasized that we need to wait on the promise and that some of us are missing out on miracles because we are waiting on others to show up when we need to show up ourselves.
His sermon was meant for me.
He painted vivid pictures with his delivery, helping me to see the importance of our spiritual posture and the necessity of waiting on God’s promises.
The analogy of the pots was powerful, reminding us that what we fill ourselves with matters greatly in our spiritual lives.
His personal stories and insights into the Bible made the message accessible and relevant, bringing a fresh perspective to familiar scriptures. It was a beautiful learning experience, emphasizing the need for a heart fully surrendered to God.
One of the most memorable aspects of the service was the genuine warmth and fellowship that permeated the entire experience.
The congregation’s love and support made me feel like part of their church family. The sense of community and the presence of the Holy Spirit were incredibly moving.
My visit to New Praise Temple of Deliverance was an experience I will forever treasure and carry with me.
The love, encouragement, and spiritual depth I encountered here have left a permanent mark on my heart.
