Worship Night with Gabrielle

Gabrielle’s Home, Lynchburg VA

Tonight, I had the incredible opportunity to continue my mission of visiting every church in our city by stepping into Worship Night with Gabrielle, marking it as the 59th church on my journey.

This incredible experience was a humble reminder that church can be anywhere: coffee shops, under trees, mountain tops, or, as in this case, a house.

Several passages in the New Testament mention churches meeting in homes, with the first house church recorded in Acts 1:13. The Bible also teaches us that the church is about people, not places.

Tonight’s gathering was different, special, and a real place of belonging.

When I messaged Pastor Gabrielle to inform her I would not be able to make it due to car trouble, she immediately responded, “It’s OK sweetheart, I will come get you.”

My heart was filled with joy and gladness at her willingness to make sure I could attend.

This exemplifies the heart of the church: serving others and ensuring no one is forgotten.

Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by everyone.

Pastor Gabrielle took the time to introduce me to several members and led me to the kitchen where the children were participating in “Cooking for Christ,” a children’s ministry led by Crystal.

They were joyfully preparing a delicious meal for everyone in attendance, including salads, spaghetti, garlic bread, and desserts.

Crystal’s dedication and love for these kids was something so special as they worked together with big smiles and excitement to be serving.

As I made my way outside to meet more members, I engaged in wonderful conversations and felt a genuine connection with everyone.

Each person graciously agreed to take photos for this journey, making me feel like part of their family.

This community truly reminded me of the spirit of the Body of Christ.

I learned that many attendees had traveled from out of state to be part of the worship night.

I was especially blessed to hear a gentleman from Pennsylvania lead us in beautiful hymns.

Pastor Gabrielle then led us in more worship and praise songs with her amazingly talented voice, creating an atmosphere of unity and devotion as everyone joined in singing around the house.

The love shown tonight was incredible.

Brother Frank delivered a powerful message on the importance of extending grace, drawing from Ephesians Chapter 5.

His blend of humor and real-life examples made the message even more impactful.

He shared his own testimony of how God changed his life, emphasizing the need to step into the roles God has called us to fulfill.

The evening included a time for prayer requests, during which Pastor Gabrielle prayed over several people, including me.

This act of compassion and faith is something I will never forget.

It was heartwarming to see everyone truly connecting and caring for one another.

Before I left, after enjoying a delicious meal and fellowship, Pastor Gabrielle brought me to her closet, knowing I don’t own many nice things to wear, and gifted me the nicest clothing I could imagine.

Her heart and compassion are truly gifts I will always cherish.

Worship Night with Gabrielle was more than a deeply moving experience, it was the best night…highlighting the essence of what it means to be a church.
