Rhema Word Life Changing Ministries

321 Alleghany Avenue, Lynchburg VA

Today, it was an absolute privilege and blessing to visit Rhema Word Life Changing Ministries, the 81st church on this incredible journey of visiting every Christian church in my city as guided by the Holy Spirit.

Each step along this path has brought me closer to God’s grace and healing, and today’s visit was no exception.

From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be a deeply moving experience.

As soon as I entered, I was greeted with warmth and love by Co-Pastor Janet and Ms. Michelle, who met me with big, heartfelt hugs… the kind of hugs that immediately make you feel cherished and loved. Their kindness and sincerity set the tone for what would be a truly unforgettable morning.

Walking into the sanctuary, I was struck by the beauty and intentionality of the space.

Adorned with vibrant flags bearing words of grace, mercy, and praise, the sanctuary felt alive with the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Every detail seemed to point to the glory of God, and I couldn’t help but feel my heart lift in worship.

As I read their mission statement: “Restoring Lost Relationships Back to God”, I knew that this was a church deeply committed to healing and reconciliation. It was a message that resonated with me personally, as I have been on my own journey of healing through God’s love.

Before the service began, I had the pleasure of meeting Pastor Adolph Brown, whose presence immediately radiated wisdom and kindness.

I shared with him that I had come with an expectation for miracles, and he responded with a smile, saying, “That is how we should always come.”

His words struck a chord in my heart, reminding me that we should always approach God with faith and expectation, knowing that He is capable of doing exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine.

The energy in the sanctuary was electric, with the congregation already abuzz with joy and laughter.

It was clear that this was a family, a community of believers deeply connected by their love for the Lord and for one another.

As I settled into my seat, several members came up to greet me, share their smiles, and extend heartfelt invitations to come back anytime.

Their warmth and openness made me feel like part of the family from the very start.

The worship music before the service was absolutely beautiful.

Co-Pastor Janet led us in heartfelt worship songs, her voice soaring as she invited us all to prepare our hearts to meet with our Savior.

The music seemed to usher in the Holy Spirit, creating an atmosphere of freedom and praise. I loved how the church made space for members to share their testimonies… powerful reminders of God’s faithfulness and His ability to walk us through even the darkest valleys.

When it came time for me to share, I spoke about how grateful I am that God saved my life.

Without His grace and mercy, I know without a doubt that I wouldn’t be here today.

Sharing that testimony in such a loving and supportive environment was a healing moment for me, and I could feel the Holy Spirit moving as others echoed their own gratitude for what God has done in their lives.

The highlight of the morning was Pastor Adolph Brown’s powerful sermon titled “They Don’t Really Know Who You Are”, based on the story of David and Goliath.

His delivery was passionate and dynamic, and his words cut straight to the heart.

He reminded us that sometimes the people closest to us… even our own family… may discourage us, betray us, or fail to see our worth.

But God sees us.

God knows exactly who we are, and He has mighty plans for our lives.

Pastor Adolph brought fresh insight to the story of David and Goliath, showing us how David’s strength didn’t come from his stature or his armor but from his faith in God.

He spoke about how, like David, we are often underestimated by the world, but God knows the essence of who we are.

When people misuse or mistreat us, they are ultimately misusing God, and He warns, “Touch not my anointed.”

These words were a reminder that even in our brokenness, God loves us unconditionally and still desires to use us for His glory.

One of the most impactful moments of the sermon was when Pastor Adolph encouraged us to stop putting our hands on God’s plans. Too often, we try to control situations or solve problems in our own strength, but Pastor Adolph reminded us that God’s way is always the best way.

He used relatable anecdotes to drive the message home, making it both memorable and transformative.

After the service, the love and kindness of the congregation continued to shine.

Members took the time to get to know me, to listen to my story, and to encourage me in ways that truly touched my heart.

The congregation exuded joy and freedom in their worship, praising the King of Kings loudly and without reservation.

It was such a beautiful and inspiring thing to witness, and I felt so blessed to be a part of it.

As I shared my journey with them… how I am visiting every church in our city as a way to heal from the years of abuse I endured, they surrounded me with support and compassion.

Their genuine interest in my story and their willingness to pray for me reminded me of the power of community and the beauty of the body of Christ.

Before leaving, I was reminded of one of the most prominent messages I saw throughout the church: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

This is a truth that has carried me through this journey, and seeing it displayed so boldly at Rhema Word Life Changing Ministries was a confirmation that I am walking in God’s will.

I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Rhema Word Life Changing Ministries. This is a church on fire for the Lord, where love abounds, and the Holy Spirit moves freely.

It’s a place where you can come as you are, bring your brokenness, and be met with the power of God’s grace and mercy.

I left Rhema Word Life Changing Ministries feeling refreshed, encouraged, and deeply grateful for the love I experienced there.

As I continue this journey of visiting every church in my city, I know that God is not only healing the broken pieces of my heart but also using each step to reveal His purpose and His glory.

I can’t wait to see where the Holy Spirit leads me next on this incredible journey.
