Today was a day of immense joy and gratitude as I finally returned to in-person church services, a long-awaited blessing after a season of online worship.
This visit marked the 96th church on my ongoing journey to experience every Christian congregation in our city, and I was thrilled to reconnect with my local community in such a heartfelt way!
From the moment I arrived at Greenview Church of God, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality.
Every smile, every handshake, and every conversation made me feel immediately at home.
Members of the congregation eagerly shared their stories and explained what they love about their church, reminding me that here, every person is valued and every story matters.
One woman named Angie led us in beautiful worship songs, using her gift of song to uplift our spirits and create an atmosphere of reverence and joy.
Pastor Tammy Clark greeted me with kindness and grace. Her warm welcome set the tone for the day, and her powerful sermon on the book of Galatians connected with my heart.
I was particularly moved by a conversation with another member who spoke about her love for this church, a place that has become her support system during incredibly difficult times.
She shared how her daughter, recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, has been surrounded by prayer, love. Hearing from so many members about how this church feels like home reminded me of the true essence of Christian community.
The atmosphere at Greenview Church was small but mighty… a congregation pouring their hearts out through worship, prayer, and meaningful community initiatives.
I learned about fun events like a chili cook-off, cookie wars, and bingo night, which perfectly illustrate the church’s fun spirit and commitment to fellowship.
Pastor Tammy even joined in the friendly competition at the cook-off by winning the best chili, others humorously recounted how the Pastors husband made an unconventional chocolate-peanut butter and spam cookie — which was rated the worst of the evening—an anecdote that brought laughter and lightness to the service.
Throughout the service, I was repeatedly reminded of the biblical truth: “You reap what you sow.”
Pastor Tammy’s thoughts, “If you’re planting snaps, do not be expecting to harvest corn,” she challenged us to examine our hearts to make sure we are truly following Jesus, loving those around us, bearing each other’s burdens, and standing in the gap when needed.
Her message echoed the trials faced by Paul, who, despite persecution, remained steadfast in his faith.
This reminder of perseverance and authenticity gave me bigger hope for my own journey ahead.
Today’s worship was not an event… it was an experience that filled me with hope, love, and a renewed sense of purpose.
The power of in-person fellowship, the uplifting music, the genuine kindness, and the heartfelt sermon all came together to create a service I will always remember.
I left Greenview Church with a heart full of love and the assurance that God is working in every detail of my life.
I am so grateful for this beautiful church family that welcomed me with open arms, and I eagerly look forward to staying connected.
As I continue my journey to visit every church in our city, I am excited to see where the Holy Spirit leads me next, knowing that every encounter brings healing, hope, and a deeper understanding of God’s love.
Thank you, Greenview Church of God, for this unforgettable day.
May God continue to bless this congregation and all who gather in His name.
