3135 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg VA
Today, by the grace and mercy of Almighty God, I stepped back into the sanctuary for an in-person worship experience, praising Jesus with a renewed heart and a spirit overflowing with gratitude.
Gather Lynchburg became church number 106 on this sacred journey to visit every church in my beloved city, and what a divine appointment it was.
Over the past couple of weeks, my body wrestled with sickness and fatigue, leaving me unable to gather physically with my community of faith.
Yet through every moment of weakness, God remained faithful. He heard your prayers and mine, strengthening and restoring my body and spirit. Today, the Lord whispered clearly to my heart: “You are not alone, I am with you always.”
As I approached Gather Lynchburg, memories stirred deeply within me. This church occupies a building where, nearly two years ago, I worshipped at Love and Truth Church… one of my earliest stops on this incredible journey. The transformation I witnessed today filled my soul with awe, reminding me that God is continually doing new things among His people. He takes the familiar and makes it extraordinary, bringing growth, life, and revival from what was once a simple seed.
From the moment I entered, I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging, as if this congregation had been eagerly awaiting my arrival.
Gather Lynchburg is a family, beautifully diverse, deeply compassionate, and fervently dedicated to the Gospel.
The worship today was powerful, reverberating with passion and sincerity, inviting the Holy Spirit into every corner of that sacred space.
As the worship team lifted their voices in pure adoration, I was reminded of what worship truly is: not performance, but surrender; not entertainment, but encounter. It is the desperate cry of souls who recognize their need for a Savior, lifting praise to the One who has rescued us from darkness.
Pastor Bobby delivered a sermon that pierced my heart like a sharpened sword, powerful and unrelenting, titled simply “This is a day of Good News.” With fervent conviction, he reminded us that sharing the Gospel is not an optional activity… it’s an urgent command given to each believer.
He challenged us directly: “Where is your urgency?” Have we become complacent, distracted by life’s comforts and conveniences, assuming there will always be another day, another opportunity?
The words resonated deeply with my spirit because urgency is precisely the word God has repeatedly placed upon my heart lately.
The Lord’s return is imminent.
Are we living with that urgency?
Are we desperately sharing Christ’s love, recognizing that each interaction, each conversation, could have eternal implications?
Pastor Bobby reminded us that our hearts will remain restless until they are filled with Christ alone.
The emptiness the world offers cannot be filled by money, relationships, achievements, or status… only by Jesus Christ.
Friends, this urgency is not a burden, it’s an honor.
It’s the recognition that we have been entrusted with the most precious truth humanity has ever known. Pastor Bobby’s sermon woke something within me, igniting a fire that compels me to speak louder, love deeper, and live more boldly.
This journey has never just been about visiting buildings, it’s about encountering Jesus. It’s about recognizing that each step, each conversation, each moment is a divine appointment. And today, God reminded me vividly that the time is now, the moment is urgent, and the call is clear: go, tell, share, love!
As I reflect upon the fellowship and conversations I shared today, I am reminded that Gather Lynchburg is a place where brokenness meets grace, where loneliness meets community, and where despair meets hope.
The invitation is clear and open to all: Come and experience this transforming love of Jesus.
I encourage each one of you reading this, do not wait another day to live urgently for Christ. Let your life be a living testimony, a sermon of its own, boldly proclaiming the Good News in your actions, words, and deeds.
Lord, thank you for this divine appointment today, for bringing me to Gather Lynchburg and speaking powerfully into my life.
Fill us with an urgency for your Kingdom, so that we might faithfully proclaim Your truth. Ignite our hearts, renew our strength, and compel us forward in your holy purpose.
In the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Amen.

Annie, it was a pleasure to meet you today. I am so glad you enjoyed you visit with us. Your blog of us touched me. This is exactly how we want the world, those without Christ to see us. Making disciples of Christ while sharing the Great News of the Saving King is why we exist. Thank you!
Pastor Bob
