Freedom Word Church

Today, as I gathered virtually with Freedom Word Church, the 116th stop on my incredible journey of faith, my spirit was stirred and my heart overflowed with gratitude.

Even through the livestream, the atmosphere of worship was energetic, passionate, and authentic. With a powerful worship team leading, I felt as though the melodies pierced through the barriers of technology and connected directly with my heart.

Freedom Word Church gathers for one compelling purpose, to pursue the heart of God with every fiber of their being. From the first song, it was evident that they are not merely performing a service; rather, they are inviting the Holy Spirit into their midst, creating an environment where God’s power is welcome and embraced. And today, I felt that invitation profoundly.

Under the caring leadership of Pastor Greg and Glenna Mayhorn, Freedom Word Church has dedicated itself to ministering to the Central Virginia region, passionately sharing the full gospel through dynamic teaching, heartfelt worship, and authentic spiritual encounters.

Pastor Greg, in particular, has placed an extraordinary emphasis on nurturing believers through the living Word of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit. And today, he spoke with conviction, urging us all to actively feed our spirits with truth, the powerful, life-changing truth found only in Christ.

Pastor Greg took us deep into the story of the woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment. As he began to preach, I was captivated by the vivid imagery he described, the pressing crowd, the desperate woman whose heart longed for healing, the simple act of reaching out in radical faith. “She was desperate,” Pastor Greg reminded us. And in that moment, I felt the truth of his words reverberating through my own life. “Some of us have not yet reached that point of desperation,” he continued. And it made me pause and reflect… have I truly reached that place of total reliance, of absolute surrender?

He continued, painting a vivid portrait of this courageous woman who had suffered… exhausted, hurting, ostracized, and yet unshaken in her belief that if she could just touch the very fringe of Jesus’ cloak, she would be made whole.

The desperation in her heart pushed her beyond the boundaries of protocol, beyond societal norms, beyond her own fears. With boldness born of necessity, she pressed forward until her hand connected with the Savior’s garment.

In that very instant, Pastor Greg passionately explained, power flowed from Jesus to her. Jesus himself felt the virtue leaving His body, turning to acknowledge her faith openly: “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you whole.” It wasn’t merely a healing; it was a profound restoration, a divine encounter, and an everlasting testimony of God’s grace and compassion.

Tears welled in my eyes as I considered how often we hold back, how frequently we remain comfortably seated in our struggles rather than pressing through the crowd to encounter Christ.

How often do we lack the desperation required to break through to our breakthrough? Pastor Greg’s powerful exhortation urged us all to move from waiting to active seeking, to reach out boldly and desperately for the healing, redemption, and transformation we need.

As the sermon concluded, Pastor Greg put faith into immediate action. He invited those yearning for healing, physical, emotional, or spiritual to come forward, and even through the online platform, I could sense the power and sincerity as he prayed over those seeking miracles from God. It reminded me vividly that the same Jesus who healed the woman in the crowd still heals today. He still transforms lives, He still mends broken hearts, and He still responds to desperate, determined faith.

I am profoundly grateful to Freedom Word Church for this powerful and timely message. Pastor Greg’s words did more than just teach; they challenged me deeply, they moved me toward the feet of Jesus once again, urging me to press forward boldly and without hesitation.

I eagerly await the day when I can step through the doors of Freedom Word Church and worship alongside this passionate family of believers in person. Until that moment, I carry today’s message close to my heart, determined not only to speak of desperate faith but to live it out in every moment.

May we all be moved to press forward, reach out, and experience the miraculous touch of Jesus. May our lives, just like that courageous woman in the crowd, bear witness to the unending power, compassion, and glory of our Lord and Savior.

All glory, honor, and praise belong to Him forever and ever!
