On June 18th, 2023, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Destiny Christian Fellowship in Lynchburg as part of my journey to explore every church in my city. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the magnificent exterior of the church.

The church’s consideration for accessibility was evident with conveniently located handicapped parking near the entrance. Two gentlemen warmly greeted me upon arrival, and Darrel graciously escorted me to the Sanctuary, ensuring that I felt welcomed from the start.

Amy, a kind woman, guided me to a seat at the front of the church, where I experienced an outpouring of love, kind words, smiles, and hugs from the entire congregation.

The genuine warmth and hospitality made me feel at home and embraced.

As worship music filled the sanctuary before the service, I observed members arriving and preparing their hearts to praise God. The comfortable seating arrangements and the growing number of filled seats indicated an engaged and vibrant congregation.

Displayed on the screens was the tagline, “#wherepurposestarts,” providing a glimpse into the church’s focus and mission.

A particularly heartwarming moment occurred when a child ran up the aisle and waved to me, with a big smile, exemplifying the inclusive and welcoming spirit of Destiny Christian Fellowship.

Elder Terri initiated the service with a powerful welcome message, setting the tone for a dynamic worship experience.

The energetic gospel music performed by the worship team compelled everyone to rise to their feet, dance, and offer praise to the Lord. Autumn’s soul-stirring praise song further transformed the atmosphere in a beautiful way. Bishop and Dr. Jay Logan delivered a deeply moving sermon in honor of Father’s Day, evoking tears and leaving a profound impact.

The message emphasized the importance of magnifying Jesus rather than the church itself, resonating with a powerful truth.

Attending Destiny Christian Fellowship in person provided an experience that exceeded any online service.

The authenticity and love shared within the church walls created an unforgettable encounter.

After the service, I had the privilege of conversing with Dani, who ensured that I felt loved and welcomed, and Pastor Kim, who extended an open invitation to return anytime, accompanied by a heartfelt hug.
