The Ramp Church International

701 Thomas Road, Lynchburg VA

On July 9, 2023, I had the absolute joy of visiting The Ramp Church International in Lynchburg. This blog post recounts my unforgettable experience at this Spirit-filled church, where the warm welcome, vibrant worship, and genuine love for God and people left a lasting impression.

It was made even more special by the presence of my daughter, Lia, who joined me on this worship journey today.

Upon arrival, we were greeted in the parking lot by two gentlemen with kind smiles, instantly making us feel valued and welcomed. The church provided designated newcomer parking, guiding us to a special location.

As we entered the church, we were embraced with warm hugs and smiles and invited to complete a newcomer welcome card at the coffee/tea bar area.

The hospitality continued as members of the church and ushers greeted us again in the sanctuary, ensuring we found seating.

We were struck by the contagious happiness and genuine joy radiating from everyone present. The church offered anointing oil at the altar, where a kind woman with her young child guided me on how to apply it for prayer.

In the moments leading up to the service, beautiful prayers filled the air, and we were given VIP tickets as guests, offering us a special gift after the service.

Witnessing families praying for one another and embracing the atmosphere of love and support was truly heartwarming.

The comfortable seating allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the anticipation of worship.

Pastor Marvin St. Macary personally welcomed us with a warm hug and friendly words, immediately making us feel at home.

The trivia displayed before the service added an enjoyable touch to the worship experience.

The service commenced with a warm welcome and a reading from Psalm 24:7. The worship team, comprising of children, young adults, and older adults, led us in singing and dancing.

The entire congregation went out of their way to welcome and encourage everyone, spreading words of love and offering heartfelt hugs. Each one of the pastors came out in the crowd to make sure they welcomed everyone with hugs and prayers.

My daughter and I felt embraced and loved, truly at home.

The colorguard members danced beautifully to the praise and worship music, their vibrant flags adding to the visual splendor.

The fragrance of praise permeated the air, with people ready to worship wholeheartedly, even one young lady who came prepared with footwear for dancing.

The energetic worship music compelled everyone to rise to their feet, dance, and shout praises, accompanied by the resonating sound of tambourines. It was evident why the church’s worship team has received and been nominated for multiple Stellar Awards for their remarkable talent.

Pastor William Westgate later greeted us personally in the sanctuary, further affirming our sense of belonging.

A young lady leading a message for the youth group encouraged us to take videos of ourselves during the worship service, fostering engagement and a sense of community. We followed her lead, capturing a video that we will cherish and share.

Pastor S.Y. Younger delivered a powerful sermon on the importance of obedience to God. Drawing from Hebrews 5:7 and sharing stories from the Bible, he exemplified different heroes of the Bible learning obedience.

The message struck a chord with my own journey of faith, and I was grateful for the profound impact it had on me.

This Is A Loving Church with a Clear Mission!

The Ramp Church International’s website proclaims, “We Love God, and We Love People” in their “about us” section, a sentiment that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the church.

The genuine love and devotion of the entire congregation were evident throughout our visit.

I wholeheartedly encourage everyone in Lynchburg and beyond to experience the love and devotion found within this church. The presence of the Holy Spirit was tangible, creating an atmosphere of spiritual connection and worship.

    • Great question, Lori. I always show up unannounced. If anyone knows or follows my blog, obviously they are aware that it exists. But, no. Most folks have no idea that I’m working on a blog. There has been one instance where someone saw me taking photos and I needed to clarify why I was doing so. Hope that helps. ♥️

  3. Annie, I’m glad that you and your daughter was able to experience the Ramp and God’s presence. It sounds like you received much more than a blog post, for which I’m grateful. God shows up in differing ways every Sunday, so I hope you and your visit again. And let’s see how God shows up that time. Next time, my sister. Thank you for such an amazing post. Blessings to, peace upon, and the love of Christ for you and your daughter.
