Today, I had the privilege of joining an online service from the 93rd church on my journey to visit every Christian congregation in my city. Even though this season of my life has been incredibly challenging—and I’m still waiting on God to provide reliable transportation so I can return to in-person worship—I felt deeply blessed to be able to connect with God and His people through technology.
Due to the current hardships and the practical limitations imposed by car troubles and circumstances beyond my control, I couldn’t attend a service in person.
Many had recommended that I watch the live stream of the service for Grace Baptist Church… but I could not find one, so I ended up exploring their YouTube channel and was able to tune into last week’s sermon instead.
Despite the slight detour, the message still reached me powerfully, as if God knew exactly what I needed to hear at this moment.
The Pastor focused his sermon on the idea that our spiritual walk reflects what lies within our hearts. He drew from Acts 15 in a continuing study and sermon series, explaining how the enemy will stop at nothing to disrupt the course of our lives.
His words hit home, especially in light of my current struggles.
He began the service with a beautifully crafted prayer, asking the Lord to bring us together, to open our eyes to the living truth of Scripture and to grant us words that we could carry and treasure deep within our hearts.
His prayer was a reminder that, even in our trials, God calls us into unity and encourages us to let His word transform our inner lives.
Throughout the service, the Pastor emphasized the importance of togetherness and being united in one accord.
We are one people under one God, saved by His grace.
His message was simple yet profound: if God calls us to do something, He believes we are the right person at the right time to get the job done.
Every word of His sermon reminded me that nothing in God’s Holy Word should be taken lightly, and that our journey is built on the enduring promises of Scripture.
Today’s message was particularly poignant for me.
As I listened to the sermon, I felt a stirring in my soul, a reminder that God is working behind the scenes, even in the midst of my personal struggles.
The power of His word is a light that shines through every challenge, and it reassures me that He is with me every step of the way.
Though I long to return to in-person services and physically join my church family, this online experience reaffirmed my faith and deepened my hope.
I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to worship online during this difficult season.
Even from home, I felt the love and unity of this family, and the powerful message of the sermon has given me strength to keep pressing forward.
I eagerly await the day I can join in person again.
Until then, I trust that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide me and heal the broken pieces of my heart.
My journey of visiting every church in my city is more than just a series of stops, it is a sacred pilgrimage of healing, hope, and transformation.
I can’t wait to see where God leads me next, and I remain steadfast in my belief that His promises will never fail.

Dear Annie –
My name is Judy Sprouse and I am a short term (less than two years) member of Grace Baptist Church and I just have to say your review of my church brought happy tears to my eyes. When I walked into Grace for the very first time and looked at that cross behind the pulpit, I knew I was home. I felt God’s love there.
I’ve only said this about one other pastor in my lifetime – Pastor Adam Staton is a God gifted preacher. (The only other pastor I’ve said that about was Jerry Falwell, Sr.)
If you would like to visit Grace Baptist Church, I would be most happy to provide transportation. You can find me on Facebook as Judy Wright Sprouse. Please feel free to PM me and I’ll share my phone number.
May God bless you in your journey to visit every Christian congregation in the Lynchburg area. I think that is one of the most unique and awesome quest ever.
